Founded in 1865, the first Town Hall was built in 1853 on Haddon Avenue, where today’s Haddonfield Firehouse is located. Haddon Township has a variety of boutique shops and restaurants along its vibrant streets. From quick comfort food to high-end restaurants, Haddon Township offers an abundance of dining options. 
 
There are many ways to get involved with the town through local events. Help preserve the 25-acre urban forest, Saddler’s Woods, by joining the local residents in seasonal clean-ups. Partake in Haddon Township’s annual Last Thursday on the Square to celebrate the end of the year or enjoy the Parade of Lights as the Westmont Fire Company No.1 drives through the streets with their decorated fire trucks, bands, and floats during the holidays. Or even watch a show at the historic landmark, The Ritz Theatre, which has been providing live, quality theater to the Delaware Valley for more than 30 years.
 
Celebrate diversity and equality by attending Haddon Township’s Pride events hosted by the Haddon Township Equity Initiative in June for a week-long celebration and support of its LGBTQIA+ community. 
 
From May to October, support many local small businesses and farmers at the Westmont Farmers Market. The Westmont Farmers Market is a seasonal mid-week market offering fresh, locally grown produce, meats, cheeses, plants, fresh cut flowers, and prepared foods direct to Haddon Township and the surrounding community. 
 
Take to the streets of Haddon Avenue between Strawbridge Avenue and Cooper Street to enjoy Haddon Township’s own music festival in October. Multiple stages of live music, beer gardens, food trucks, a Ferris wheel, and much more. This festival, and others throughout the year, are great events for friends, families, and children to enjoy.

With seven schools in the district, Haddon Township Public School District serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. There are five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school in the district. Haddon Township High School, which has been recognized as one of the top public high schools in New Jersey, offers courses in math, science, languages, humanities, and various vocational skills. 
 

Transportation

Easily accessible to all the major roadways in New Jersey, traveling to and from Haddon Township is very convenient for commuters. Located only eight miles from Center City, the drive to Philadelphia can be made within minutes via the Ben Franklin Bridge. The PATCO has a stop right in downtown Haddon Township (Westmont Station), which makes stops throughout South Jersey and Philadelphia. Travel northbound towards Trenton or New York easily using the NJ Turnpike or I-295. No matter the destination, Haddon Township’s location is a commuter’s delight.
