Moorestown is a town in South Jersey that truly embraces its history and close community. English Quakers settled in Moorestown in the late 1600s, and many believe the genuine friendliness of the Quaker community is naturally instilled in current Moorestown residents. Homes were first built in Moorestown in the late 1600s, when the neighborhood was part of Chester Township. Since then, Moorestown has evolved into a highly coveted area in South Jersey. Moorestown is 15 square miles and home to over 20,000 welcoming residents. The current Main Street follows a ridge that was occupied by the Lenni Lenape Native Americans and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Now, Moorestown residents enjoy dozens of fantastic restaurants and small local businesses that lend to a classic small-town feel. In 2005, Moorestown was named “Best Place to Live” In Money Magazine.

Moorestown’s tight-knit community is displayed at its many local town events, such as Autumn in Moorestown Day, the annual Turkey Trot, the Scott Coffee 5K, and the Main Street Candlelight Stroll to kick off the winter holiday season.
 
Moorestown is surrounded by an abundance of parks and trails for the outdoor explorers. Residents enjoy the multi-age playground at Frank Fullerton Memorial Park or bird watching at Boundary Creek Natural Resource Area. Most notable in the area is the 70-acre Strawbridge Lake Park. From picnics and playgrounds to kayaks and canoeing, this park has something for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.

Moorestown Township Public School District is top-rated and serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade via three elementary schools, one upper elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. Niche gave the school district an overall grade of A+.
 

Transportation

Moorestown’s excellent location offers residents easy access to both Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore. Commuters can access Center City, Philadelphia, in under 30 minutes via Church Road, NJ-38, or NJ-90. Drivers can also easily hop on the nearby NJ Turnpike to access the New York-Washington travel corridor.
