Moorestown is a town in South Jersey that truly embraces its history and close community. English Quakers settled in Moorestown in the late 1600’s and many believe the genuine friendliness of the Quaker community is naturally instilled in current Moorestown residents. Homes were first built in Moorestown in the late 1600’s, when the neighborhood was part of Chester Township. Since then, Moorestown evolved into a highly-coveted area in South Jersey. Moorestown is 15 square miles and home to over 20,000 welcoming residents. The current Main Street follows a ridge that was occupied by the Lenni Lenape Native Americans and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.  Now, Moorestown residents enjoy dozens of fantastic restaurants, and small local businesses that lend to a classic small-town feel. In 2005, Moorestown was named “Best Place to Live” In Money Magazine.

Activities

Moorestown’s tight-knit community is displayed at its many local town events, such as Autumn in Moorestown Day, the annual Turkey Trot, the Scott Coffee 5K, and the Main Street Candlelight Stroll to kick off the winter holiday season.

Moorestown is surrounded by an abundance of parks and trails for the outdoor explorers. Residents enjoy the multi-age playground at Frank Fullerton Memorial Park or bird watching at Boundary Creek Natural Resource Area. Most notably in the area is the 70-acre Strawbridge Lake Park. From picnics and playgrounds to kayaks and canoeing, this park has something for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
